An open letter to the U.S. Senate

This Is a Failure of Duty, Not Politics

I am writing as a deeply frustrated constituent who is watching you and your colleagues fail to uphold the Constitution and the rule of law you swore to defend. Your inaction and selective enforcement are not just disappointing. They are unacceptable. You have failed to ensure that agencies like ICE operate within the bounds of the 1st, 4th, and 14th Amendments. You have not defended the constitutional balance of power by protecting states’ authority over elections. You have neglected your responsibility to enforce the War Powers Clause, allowing unauthorized military actions to continue without proper accountability. At the same time, you have allowed the DOJ to evade transparency during hearings, ignored failures to comply with subpoenas, and tolerated a system where truth is optional and consequences are rare. You have also failed to address corruption within your own ranks. Insider trading, monopolistic behavior, and selective accountability for misconduct continue unchecked. Transparency around issues like the Epstein case remains insufficient, and the public is left to wonder why those in power are shielded from scrutiny. You have also failed to uphold the separation of church and state. Religion should not be imposed through government authority, including within the military. Service members swear to defend the Constitution, not adhere to any specific religious belief. Any effort to blur this line undermines both constitutional protections and the rights of those who serve. Even more troubling is your willingness to fund questionable military actions and enforcement practices while supporting cuts to essential services such as food, education, healthcare, and housing that your own constituents rely on. You are choosing priorities that do not reflect the needs or well-being of the people you represent. If you are unwilling or unable to uphold the Constitution, enforce the law consistently, and serve your constituents with integrity, then you should resign. This is not about party loyalty. It is about duty, accountability, and the basic expectation that elected officials serve the public, not themselves or political interests. Your constituents are paying attention. Your oath still matters, even if your actions suggest otherwise. DO YOUR JOB!
