An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Rein in ICE abuses, uphold human rights and dignity.

23 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

ICE's recent actions illustrate the urgency for reform, including the arrest of NYC Comptroller Brad Lander, the indictment of Congresswoman LaMonica McIver, and the assault of Senator Alex Padilla. This unaccountable federal agency continues unchecked human rights abuses like separating families, detaining asylum seekers indefinitely in inhumane conditions, and deporting long-time residents over minor infractions. Their tactics sow fear in immigrant communities and undermine America's founding ideals as a nation of immigrants. Curtailing ICE's powers through stringent new policies, enhanced transparency requirements, and reallocating resources to more humane processing methods is imperative to uphold justice and human dignity. Bold legislative action reining in this rogue agency's abuses must be a top priority.
