This Week‘s Budget Resolution: Voter Suppression and Forever Wars

As your constituent, I am writing to strongly urge you to vote against the newly advanced $95 billion budget resolution. I am deeply concerned by the House Budget Committee’s decision to move this party-line package forward.  First, allocating tens of billions of dollars to the Pentagon to fund and expand the ongoing war in Iran is a dangerous use of taxpayer resources. Our nation cannot afford to bankroll further military escalation in the Middle East.  Second, I object to using the budget reconciliation process to funnel billions into federal grants aimed at imposing the SAVE America Act. Bribing states to enact strict voter ID requirements and proof-of-citizenship mandates serves as a direct form of voter suppression. Eligible American citizens will face massive hurdles to exercise their constitutional right to vote.  This legislation prioritizes conflict abroad and the restriction of democratic rights at home. Please represent my voice by rejecting this framework when it comes to the House floor. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
