An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Honor the Retirement Commitments Made to Transgender Service Members

225 so far! Help us get to 250 signers!

Seventeen transgender Air Force and Space Force members were promised early retirement under TERA, relied on those orders, and had them ripped away. One had already planned a retirement ceremony — the food was given away, the party canceled. These are people with 15 or more years of service who bled for this country, and the government's response is to argue they haven't been harmed yet. That's not a legal position. That's an insult. The DOJ wants these service members to wait until they're formally separated without benefits, then start over in a new court — a court the government's own attorney admitted may not even have jurisdiction. Judge Kaplan was right to push back. The promise was made, it was relied upon, and it was illegally rescinded. Master Sgt. Logan Ireland and the other plaintiffs deserve reinstatement of their retirement orders, restoration of their benefits, and compensation for what was taken from them. Stand up for the people who stood up for this country.
