No State Budget Without Transit For All PA!

I am writing to encourage you to support the Transit for All PA! funding solutions that are being proposed in the Senate by Senators Williams & Saval and in the House by Representatives Abney & Benham. Please support these bills in addition to the proposal being put forward by Governor Shapiro. Together, these bills would restore service to 2019 levels across the state and expand it +10% for small and rural communities. In the last decade, the funding formula for public transportation has remained stagnant, even as costs for transit agencies have continued to rise. Now, across the state, transit systems are hitting a funding cliff, which would devastate communities already suffering under similar cuts enacted over the past several years due to funding austerity. We are done with decline - I urge you to join in supporting these bills to build a future that everyone can access. Better transit- not worse- is possible, is necessary, and is transformative. I'm calling on you to be a champion for a new dedicated funding source for our statewide Public Transportation Trust Fund, so that we restore the reliable, affordable access to jobs, healthcare, and food that we deserve.
