As my representative, I am demanding that you stand up for the right to an abortion at the national and state level. If you do not, you are being complicit in state sanctioned violence that will disproportionately affect low-income women, women of color and all people with uteruses. As a country that does NOT provide maternal health care, paid family leave, accessible health care, and child care at the national level, your personal lack of action will directly affect the lives of your fellow citizens.
Abortion laws do not end abortions. They end safe abortions.
Take this opportunity to support the codification of Roe v. Wade through Congress and take action to make sure our state protects the right to choose, which means creating equitable access to abortions.
I am paying attention and will continue to use my voice this fall in the midterm elections.
