An open letter to State Governors & Legislatures (Texas only)
FIX OUR GD GRID!
3 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!
Greetings. I am a voting constituent in rural west Texas.
Oh great. Sitting here in my nicely air conditioned house, feeling fortunate to not have to experience the reality of the heat wave about to hit us upside the head, I read we’re being asked to conserve energy because of the demand on our ever-wheezy power grid.
I’m all for conservation. I keep my thermostat at 78 or above. And always wait until heat stroke is about to set in before turning it on at all. So that’s not my issue.
My issue is that the great state of Texas seems unable to keep our lights on when most needed. Why is that? If we are such a rich, powerful, self-reliant, independent state, why can’t we have a nice grid? We certainly pay enough for the privilege of having to be the ones to make sure things don’t crash.
Whoever’s job it is to make sure this system is working doesn’t deserve the salary they get.
This is BS.
Just thought you’d like to know.
