An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Make All Epstein Investigation Hearings Public and Transparent

48 so far! Help us get to 50 signers!

I am writing to urge you to ensure that all hearings related to the House Oversight Committee's investigation into Jeffrey Epstein are conducted publicly, not behind closed doors. The American people deserve full transparency in this matter of significant public interest. Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are scheduled to sit for closed-door depositions on February 26 and 27. While Chairman James Comer has stated that video and transcripts will eventually be released, this arrangement falls short of the transparency this investigation demands. Both Clintons have explicitly requested public hearings instead of private depositions, with Bill Clinton stating that closed-door proceedings serve "only partisan interests" rather than Epstein's victims or the public. The Clintons' attorney, Jon Skladany, wrote to Chairman Comer that an open hearing "will best suit our concerns about fairness." This is a reasonable request that would benefit everyone involved. Public hearings allow constituents to witness testimony in real time, prevent selective leaking of information, and ensure accountability for all parties. Neither Clinton has been accused of wrongdoing, and no Epstein survivor has made public allegations against them, making the case for transparency even stronger. Closed-door depositions, even with promises of later release, create opportunities for political manipulation and selective editing. They deny the public the ability to assess witness credibility firsthand and fuel suspicion about what might be hidden. If this investigation truly seeks justice for Epstein's victims and answers for the American people, it should be conducted in full public view. I urge you to support making all Epstein-related hearings public and transparent. The victims deserve justice conducted in the light of day, and your constituents deserve to see their government working openly on their behalf.
