Two-thirds of American voters support a ceasefire in Palestine. Sourced from Data For Progress, this poll released on Oct. 20th proves that voters agree: the U.S. must call for an end to the violence against Palestinian people. The polling sample was weighted so as to accurately represent the views of likely voters by age, gender, education, race, geography, and voting history. And the calculated margin of error is ±3 percentage points.
The specific statement that poll participants were asked their opinion on is as follows:
*The U.S. should call for a ceasefire and a de-escalation of violence in Gaza. The U.S. should leverage its close diplomatic relationship with Israel to prevent further violence and civilian deaths.*
The results show that 80% of Democrats, 57% of Independents, and 56% of Republicans, together making up 66% of all poll participants, strongly or partially agree with the above statement. I’m sure as someone who holds political office, you know how monumental it is for voters to agree on this across party lines.
I assume you wish to maintain your political career, in which case I strongly advise you to support a CEASEFIRE NOW. Should you choose to continually ignore the will of your constituents, you cannot expect a successful campaign for re-election.
It is well within your power to mandate a ceasefire in Palestine. You can and must.
