Yes to Restoring Regulations on Methane (CRA)

Today I take pen in hand to write in support of the Congressional resolution to undo the rollback of regulations surrounding methane emissions. Preventing methane leaks is vital to our efforts to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases emitted. These same gases are the cause, direct and indirect, of all sorts of weather and climate side effects. Contrary to the rhetoric, stopping gas leaks is not going to put Exxon out of business. The economy will do that, as the rise of clean, renewable energy has increasingly shown In addition, the health hazard of emitted gases disproportionately affects communities near these oil and natural gas production sites. Environmental justice is also served by cleaning up the air. Please vote YES on the CRA resolution this week, and convince many of your opposite numbers to say yes to cleaner air and health. The price of this kind of pollution is too high for the country to pay. Thank you.
