Did my Texas senators have a good time at your “Rose Garden Club” luncheon? Did you get a tour of what used to be the East Wing of the WH? Did you get to hear the prez rattle on about god-knows-what? While y’all smiled, laughed, nodded, and clapped in admiration?
Did you enjoy him boasting that the shutdown was enabling the administration to cut funding for what he continues to say are Democratic priorities?
Did you nod along with agreement that the executive branch now has the previously solely congressional power to stop appropriations for projects you approved?
Did you smile, maybe shrug, knowing that Republican voters will also be hurt by the administration’s attempts to cut public programs and infrastructure projects?
Did you stand up and cheer when Trump called out OMB Director Russell Vought, calling him “Darth Vader” as he slashes through congressionally-approved funding and fires government workers?
And did you feel warm and fuzzy knowing that Texas is going to be unable to fund SNAP after November 1 unless the government shutdown ends?
When Trump tells you to stay the course and don’t negotiate with Democrats, do you think of hungry children at all? While you enjoy a presidential lunch on our dime?
Did dessert include a viewing of the Trump administration call-to-arms video of our president bombing your constituents with sh*t?
And in case you think it was all in good fun, and totally misinterpreted by our lying eyes, when asked about the video, a senior Trump administration official told a reporter exactly what it depicts:
“It is sh*t. A lot of it.”
This is your GOP. A disgrace. An embarrassment. Governance by fabricated victimhood. An insult to our founding fathers. A danger to democracy. An Idiocracy.
And your answer is to go to lunch.
Hillary was right. You are deplorable.
