Pass the Healthy Families Act and Guarantee Workers Paid Sick Days

Pass the Healthy Families Act, S3869, and let every worker earn paid sick days. I don't think anyone should have to choose between a paycheck and recovering from the flu, or between their job and caring for a sick child. Right now millions of people go to work sick because staying home means losing pay they can't spare. They serve our food, stock our shelves, and care for our kids, and they do it while contagious because the alternative is falling behind on rent. I've watched people drag themselves in sick because calling out was not an option, and it never sat right with me. This bill fixes that by letting workers earn paid sick time for their own health and their family's. It's a simple idea most of the country already supports, and it costs far less than the lost productivity and emergency room visits we all pay for when people can't afford to rest. Bring S3869 to the floor and vote yes. Let people take a sick day without risking their livelihood.
