Stop Holding Affordable Housing Hostage to Political Games

The American people are facing a housing affordability crisis. Instead of helping Americans find affordable housing, he canceled the bill signing and demanded passage of the deeply divisive SAVE Act before he would move forward. This is not leadership. It is political extortion. Millions of Americans are struggling with housing costs right now. They should not be used as bargaining chips for an unrelated voting bill that remains highly controversial and faces widespread opposition. Voting legislation and housing affordability are separate issues. Americans need homes, not political games. Congress must stop enabling this behavior. A president is not a king. He does not get to throw a tantrum and block legislation that would help working families because he did not get his way on another bill. Do your jobs. Defend the institution of Congress. Protect the bipartisan work you already completed. Make it clear that the needs of American families come before the demands of one politician. The housing crisis is real.
