Budget vote

I wonder if you have thought through the fiasco that will happen in this country if Medicaid is not funded?! Approximately 72 million Americans rely on Medicaid. Many nursing home patients rely on Medicaid to pay for their nursing home stay. Or what about all the people in group homes who have IDD or severe autism. They will be booted out on their ear. What about the people who have serious illnesses? People in kidney failure. People with serious diabetes or ones with cancer?! Without Medicaid, they will not receive treatment. Not to mention the folks with serious mental illness. Do we want those people on the streets and unmedicated?! Four in 10 children are covered by Medicaid. When Medicaid is defunded, it will be a serious debacle. There will be a nationwide health crisis. Many people will be booted out of their living situation and many have no families and thus will end up on the streets.. The elderly, anybody in a group home, the very seriously ill and seriously mentally ill. Texas is not going to pick up the bill for those people. Texas refused to expand Medicaid as part of the ACA. And the majority of that bill was going to be paid by the feds. But Texas just refused. So a lot of families went without care. Very sad. Are you prepared for the onslaught of suffering and pain your funding decisions will cause?!
