An open letter to the U.S. Congress

President must uphold and defend the Constitution's principles

2 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

The president's response that he does not know if he needs to uphold the Constitution is deeply concerning. As the leader of our nation, it is imperative that the president upholds and defends the Constitution, which outlines the fundamental rights and principles that govern our democracy. A lack of understanding or commitment to this foundational document undermines the rule of law and erodes public trust in our institutions. We urge vigilant protection of constitutional principles, including checks and balances on executive power, due process rights for all people in the United States, and respect for the authority of the Supreme Court's interpretations. Failure to do so threatens the integrity of our governmental system. It is crucial that the president, and all elected officials, demonstrate an unwavering dedication to constitutional values. Our democracy depends on it.
