But when they come from hell and they complain and do nothing but bitch we don't want them in our country. The Christian faith you profess to hold is enough to tell you that you cannot support this. Somali people make up about 1.4% of Minnesota’s population, numbering around 76K people (pg. 8), 57% of which are foreign-born (pg. 14). The majority of Somalis in Minnesota — 75% of people from ages 16 to 64 — participate in the labor force (pg. 30). The 25% not in the labor force include, though are not limited to, those who are full-time students, caregivers of young children of elderly family members, or disabled (pg. 30). As a member of Congress, you are obligated to speak up both for the humane treatment of people and for truth; this obligation compels you to speak to it against this racist tirade.
