Choose country not politics-stand by the constitution, Stop Dangerous Overreach

A legally residing father, Kilmar Abrego García, was wrongly deported to a prison in El Salvador. Even after a U.S. Supreme Court ruling, the Trump administration has refused to bring him back. This failure to uphold our own legal system is unacceptable. Now, there are proposals to deport even U.S. citizens convicted of crimes to foreign prisons. The rhetoric around this—including warnings that “hometowns are next”—is deeply concerning. It’s not just a legal issue; it’s a dangerous overreach that risks undermining our constitutional protections and the rule of law. These proposals disproportionately impact communities of color and set a precedent no American should accept. Regardless of political affiliation, we should all agree: citizenship comes with rights that cannot be outsourced.
