Oppose Chad Meredith for Federal Bench - KY - Extremist, Threat to Equal Justice

“Chad Meredith has built his career on advancing an extreme conservative legal agenda that threatens the rights of the most vulnerable in our country.” - Rachel Rossi, President, Alliance For Justice Today I’m writing to urge you to oppose and vote NO on the nomination of Chad Meredith for the federal bench in the Eastern District of Kentucky. He’s another in a parade of unqualified and extremist nominees for lifetime appointments to the federal bench. Indeed, Meredith is opposed by over 100 public interest and civil rights organizations. His glaring and narrow-minded views on the law include: ⁃ Restricting abortion and reproductive health care in a state already suffering from poverty and extremism with regard to women’s rights. ⁃ As Solicitor General of Kentucky, he worked to enforce a medically unnecessary law requiring abortion providers to secure transfer and transport agreements with local hospitals — part of a broader strategy known as “TRAP” laws. ⁃ Stands with corporate polluters in the coal state of Kentucky ⁃ He’s anti-union, anti-working family, and anti-women’s rights. In short, he’s completely unfit for the sound and unbiased judgment of someone elevated to the federal bench. His list of questionable actions goes on far beyond this, including questionable clemency that even Mitch McConnell found extreme. We don’t need these kind of under qualified extremist judges. Reject his nomination, publicly expose his canted and unreasonable stance on the law, and vote NO. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
