An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Request for Implementation of Supreme Court Code of Conduct

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

The Supreme Court, as the highest judicial body, should exemplify the highest standards of conduct. However, it currently lacks a formal code of conduct, unlike other federal courts. This gap needs to be addressed to ensure transparency, accountability, and public trust. It is crucial to advocate for the implementation of a Supreme Court code of conduct. This would provide clear guidelines for ethical behavior and decision-making, and help prevent potential conflicts of interest. It is also important to support organizations like Common Cause, which are committed to transparency in funding sources. Their initiatives, such as monthly giving, tax-deductible giving, planned giving, gifts of stock, memorial/tribute gifts, and joining the Leadership Circle, are commendable. Therefore, it is requested to consider and act upon the need for a Supreme Court code of conduct.
