Pandemic Concerns

I’m writing you again today to encourage you to make sure California is being more cautious in its reopening of the economy and especially schools. We are seeing things happen in real time all over the country and world, and the data points to reopening of schools as a BAD idea. Almost everywhere in the US that has reopened schools to in person instruction, have had to shut down two to three weeks later due to infections. We will achieve lower spread, higher health outcomes, and more stability for children if we keep to distance learning for this school year. The point of our efforts should be to protect the health of our citizens first and foremost, while also ensuring their economic security via safety net measures, not returning to normal until a vaccine is widespread. Please use the data, and listen to the experts, and ignore the squeaky wheels who are NOT in the majority. Our lives depend on it!
