This Is Voter Suppression

Let’s be honest about what the SAVE Act is actually doing. This legislation is not about election integrity. It is a calculated attempt to roll back voting rights — and women will be among those most harmed. The documentation requirements pushed by this bill disproportionately target women, particularly married women, divorced women, widows, and survivors of domestic violence whose legal names do not always align neatly across records. We know this is not accidental. After stripping women of bodily autonomy, it is impossible to ignore the pattern: restricting reproductive rights, erasing legal protections, and now advancing legislation that makes it harder for women to vote. The SAVE Act fits squarely within that agenda. When lawmakers say women are “too emotional” to govern their own bodies while simultaneously erecting barriers to the ballot, the intent becomes clear. Women have fought — and died — for the right to vote in this country. Any attempt to undermine that right, whether overt or disguised as “security,” is an attack on democracy itself. There is no credible evidence of widespread non-citizen voting. There is ample evidence of voter suppression, particularly against women, minorities, and marginalized communities. Passing the SAVE Act would place you on the wrong side of history. I expect you to vote NO on the SAVE Act and to publicly reject any effort to weaken women’s access to the ballot. Democracy does not survive by excluding the people it governs.
