Help protect LGBTQIA Californians

I am writing to urge you to support and sign into law eight critical bills that will protect the dignity, privacy, and health of LGBTQ+ Californians: Trans Protection Bills AB 82 – Extends confidentiality protections to those providing and receiving gender-affirming care. AB 1084 – Streamlines the process for updating legal documents to reflect gender identity. SB 59 – Ensures old court records cannot be used to involuntarily out someone. SB 497 – Strengthens privacy by requiring safeguards on sensitive healthcare data. SB 418 – Requires coverage of up to a 12-month supply of prescription hormone therapy and expands nondiscrimination protections. Health Equity & LGBTQ+ Safety Bills AB 554 – Expands access to HIV prevention medications without unnecessary barriers. AB 727 – Requires schools and universities to include the Trevor Project’s 24/7 suicide prevention hotline on student ID cards. SB 41 – Regulates pharmacy benefit managers to increase transparency, prevent discrimination, and reduce patient costs. Together, these bills will ensure California continues to lead the nation in advancing equality, protecting trans lives, and safeguarding access to health care.
