Defend Trans-Inclusive School Policies That Keep All Students Safe

The House Education and Workforce Committee's decision to subpoena and publicly grill school superintendents over trans-inclusive policies was a waste of congressional power and an attack on programs that make schools safer for every child. Stand against this intimidation and publicly defend the right of districts to maintain inclusive learning environments. Superintendents like Dr. Maria Su and Dr. Macquline King — who together oversee nearly 365,000 students — showed up and made clear their districts follow state and federal law, align with state curriculum standards, and welcome all students. That's exactly what good school leadership looks like. Rep. Walberg calling age-appropriate gender identity education "child abuse" isn't a serious policy argument. Public health research cited at the very same hearing found zero evidence linking trans-inclusive restroom policies to increased sexual offenses. The fear-mongering doesn't hold up. Trans students deserve to go to school without being treated as a threat to everyone around them. Inclusive policies don't harm other students — they give every child the message that they belong. I want my representative on the right side of this: defending schools that protect all kids, not hauling educators before Congress to score political points.
