An open letter to State Governors (Ohio only)

Veto bill undermining academic freedom and diversity on campuses

43 so far! Help us get to 50 signers!

Efforts to restrict academic freedom and curtail meaningful discussions on diversity and inclusion on college campuses are misguided and harmful. This legislation seeks to undermine the ability of higher education institutions to foster an environment of open inquiry, critical thinking, and cultural awareness – values that are essential for developing well-rounded, globally competent graduates. Research shows that exposure to diverse perspectives and backgrounds enhances learning outcomes and prepares students for success in an increasingly interconnected world. Rather than imposing arbitrary limitations, we should support policies that empower universities to cultivate an inclusive and intellectually vibrant atmosphere conducive to the exchange of ideas. I urge you to veto this bill and safeguard the integrity of Ohio's higher education system.
