An open letter to the U.S. Senate

Co-Sponsor Bernie Sander's resolution to block offensive arm transfers to Israel

Israel's genocide in Gaza have resulted in catastrophic loss of civilian life and destruction of vital infrastructure, severely impacting the Palestinian population. Over 43,000 Palestinians have been killed, with 60% being women, children, or elderly. 70% of housing, along with hospitals, schools, and universities have been destroyed. These actions are in clear violation of international law and human rights standards. In light of this, I urge you to cosponsor and support Senator Bernie Sander's Joint Resolutions of Disapproval (JRD) to block over $20 billion in offensive U.S. arms transfers to Israel. Continuing to provide offensive weaponry to Israel enables and perpetuates these unlawful and inhumane attacks on the Gazan people. It is imperative that we use all available legislative means to prevent further civilian casualties and incentivize a cessation of hostilities. I ask that you take a principled stand against this unconscionable violence by co-sponsoring senator Sander's resolutions to halt arms transfers that facilitate these war crimes. www.ueunion.org/political-action/2024/bernie-sanders-announces-senate-vote-next-week-to-block-arms-sales-to-israel
