Stop the Greenland Annexation Threats Before They Trigger a Global War

I am writing in alarm, disbelief, and desperation.
President Trump’s repeated threats to annex Greenland are reckless, unhinged, and extraordinarily dangerous. This is not bravado. This is not strategy. This is a direct threat to international stability, to our most critical alliances, and to global peace. Congress must act now to stop this before irreversible damage is done.
Greenland is not ours to take. It is part of the Kingdom of Denmark—a NATO ally. Threatening annexation is not just diplomatically insane, it is an explicit provocation against NATO itself. You know exactly what that means. NATO is a mutual defense alliance. Escalation here does not stay hypothetical. It risks triggering a chain reaction that pulls the United States—and the world—into a catastrophic conflict.
This is how world wars begin: with leaders who believe power excuses lawlessness, who mistake bullying for strength, and who ignore treaties, norms, and consequences. Congress was not designed to be a spectator while a president threatens allies and destabilizes the global order.
You swore an oath to the Constitution—not to a president’s ego.
The Founders gave Congress the power to check exactly this kind of behavior. Article I exists for a reason. If a president is behaving in a way that endangers national security, violates international law, and risks dragging the United States into World War III, Congress has both the authority and the obligation to intervene.
Silence is not neutrality. Silence is permission.
Every hour this rhetoric goes unchallenged, America’s credibility erodes. Our alliances weaken. Our adversaries watch and learn. And the risk of miscalculation grows. You cannot undo a global war once it starts.
Make this stop. Publicly. Immediately. Unequivocally.
Reassert Congress’s constitutional authority over foreign policy and war powers. Condemn these threats. Block any funding, authorization, or support for actions that violate international law and endanger NATO. Protect this country from the consequences of one man’s recklessness.
History will not be kind to those who saw this coming and chose inaction.
Act now—before it is too late.
