An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Stop escalation at protests

2 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

he US had an immigration system where most people showed up for their immigration appointments and followed the rules.  Now, folks are arrested at these appointments and held without access to attorneys or due procress.  No doubt people will exercise their democratic rights and protest this sort of authoritarian rule.  Trump's order to send the CA National Guard further escalated this.  The administration and the Republican Party cannot militarize their way out of this self created problem.  Denounce Stephen Miller's call for 3000 arrests per day, condemn the tactics of ICE, and work towards common sense immigration policies like DACA and allowing folks with TPS a pathway to citizenship.
