Protect Social Security Benefits and Reject Staff Cuts & Office Closings

Today I take pen in hand to write and urge you in the strongest possible terms to protect the Social Security Administration (SSA) from unlawful and arbitrary cuts to its service ordered by the fictitious DOGE organization.
This is sabotage by a lawless President, his billionaire campaign contributor and various architects of Project 2025.
You well know that these severe budget cuts and workforce reductions under the fictitious DOGE office, will endanger the timely delivery of retirement and disability benefits to over 72 million vulnerable Americans.
That’s 72-million people suddenly put at risk.
Leaked plans from the White House and other sources detail closing hundreds of local SSA offices across the country, with terminations concentrated in the South but expected nationwide. This will disproportionately harm those who rely on in-person assistance, such as the poor, disabled, and elderly without computer access.
The 50% workforce cuts will cripple the SSA's operations and ability to process claims within its legally mandated timeframes.
According to former SSA Commissioner Martin O'Malley, these cuts risk causing a "total system collapse" and disruption of benefits within just 30-90 days. With the SSA's unprecedented 80-year streak of making payments on time now at risk, urgent action is needed.
I implore you to adamantly reject any budget proposal that fails to restore full funding and staffing levels for the SSA.
You cannot allow these reckless cuts. It would be a damaging and unecessary attack on a vital safety net system that millions of our most vulnerable citizens depend on for their basic survival.
Please use your authority in Congress, on committees and other advocacy alliances to protect Social Security from this looming catastrophe. Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter.
