Support/Vote YES on the Crimea Annexation non-Recognition Act

Today I take pen in hand to write an urge you to support and Vote YES on the re-introduction of the Crimea Annexation Non-Recognition Act, first passed by the House in the 116th Congress. The United States must reaffirm its stance against Russia's illegal annexation of Crimea. This Administration is trying to put us into the camp of the aggressors, and in doing so destroy decades of diplomatic work, cooperation and peacekeeping. Make no mistake, Russia had committed a blatant violation of international law and undermined Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Passing the Crimea Annexation Non-Recognition Act would codify our policy of non-recognition until Ukraine's control over Crimea is fully restored. This bipartisan legislation prohibits any federal action that implies acceptance of Russia's forcible seizure of this territory. Upholding this principled position is critical in order to deter further Russian aggression against NATO and safeguarding the rules-based international order. I urge swift passage of this act to reinforce America's commitment to Ukraine's territorial integrity and to support our allies. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
