Oppose HB 36

I strongly oppose HB 36, which would allow the State to use poisonous gas or the firing squad to kill people who have been convicted of a crime and been sentenced to death. The death penalty is immoral (if killing is wrong, having it done by the government doesn't make it right), expensive, applied in a capricious and often racist way, and has been proven to not reduce crime. For all these reasons, I vehemently oppose HB 36. We should be working to end the death penalty not adding new ways for the State to kill people.
