Impeach DHS Secretary Kristi Noem for Human Rights Abuses

I am writing to urge you to immediately move forward with impeachment proceedings against Kristi Noem, the 8th Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. Her tenure has been marked by gross incompetence, corruption, and systematic human rights violations that endanger everyone living in the United States. Secretary Noem has also directed the use of US military forces against protestors exercising their First Amendment rights. Most egregiously, she celebrated an ICE agent's murder of Renee Good as self defense, despite video evidence reportedly showing Good's innocence. This celebration of extrajudicial killing by a cabinet secretary represents a dangerous embrace of violence that has no place in American governance. Secretary Noem lacks the qualifications and judgment necessary to lead DHS. Her actions have made our communities less safe, not more secure. The Constitution provides impeachment as a remedy for officials who abuse their power and violate their oath of office.
