To Improve Outreach, and Counter Propaganda

I propose an initiative to enhance public outreach, rebuild trust in government communication, and improve media transparency: Daily Press Briefings with Public Access, led by a skilled communicator such as Pete Buttigieg. His ability to engage diverse audiences, including skeptics, makes him ideal for this role. White House press practices highlight the need for a credible platform to counter misinformation and foster accountability. A Democratic-led effort to establish transparent, inclusive press briefings would correct issues like restricted media access and partisan messaging while setting a new standard for open communication. These briefings would provide factual updates on key issues and could include a public Q&A session. They would be streamed across multiple platforms—YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and a dedicated website—to reach diverse demographics. Key Components of This Initiative: --> Daily Press Briefings with Public Access – Regular, substantive updates that prioritize factual information and inclusivity, ensuring access for all media outlets—traditional and emerging. While a lead spokesperson such as Pete Buttigieg would set the standard, other qualified public officials should also participate to provide expertise and maintain continuity. --> Enhanced Public Outreach – Expanding engagement with underrepresented communities through social media campaigns, town halls, and partnerships with local organizations. --> A New Standard for Transparency – Addressing current issues in White House press briefings, such as misinformation, restricted access, and adversarial interactions with reporters, by fostering openness and accountability. This proposal aligns with Democratic values of transparency, accountability, and inclusivity.
