The GOP wants certain things that should be a strict NO to any person with any sense and sanity: 1) Another $200 Billion for the Defense Department to continue the war. NO! He didn’t get authorization from congress, he’s supposed to be so smart, let him figure it out. Sometimes he says we’re ahead of schedule - quit while you’re ahead.
2) The “SAVE” act. Absolutely not. It would make it much more difficult for the Democratic base to vote, ensuring that Trump would win the midterms and continue unchecked.
3) DHS funding. This is negotiable, but without giving the store away. We need restrictions on ICE, and preferably without an unqualified Markwayne Mullin in charge. He has no background experience to qualify him, and he has temperament issues.
4) The Epstein Files. Trump wants them to just go away. Even some of his base wants full disclosure. Pam Bondi must testify under oath in front of cameras. If she refuses to answer questions, she can always invoke the 5th, with the subsequent inference that laws have been broken.
It is past time for us to be playing by the rules that the GOP are breaking. Time for hardball.
