Stop Occupying Cities – End the Unconstitutional Use of the Guard and Military!
21 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!
We demand an immediate halt to the unlawful deployment of National Guard troops and federal military forces in U.S. cities, including Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and any other jurisdiction where the executive branch is using armed forces to enforce domestic policy.
Our demands:
Immediate withdrawal of all National Guard units and federal troops that have been placed on the streets for “crime‑ and immigration‑crackdown” operations.
Legislative clarification that Title 32/Section 502F authority cannot be used to bypass state control or to conduct policing functions without explicit state consent.
Congressional oversight hearings on the Pentagon’s recent orders allowing Guard members to carry weapons while assisting ICE and local police.
Restoration of civil liberties – an end to the intimidation of residents, the mass arrests, and the expansion of detention facilities that violate constitutional protections.
Transparent reporting of all federal‑state joint operations, including troop numbers, locations, and the legal basis for each deployment.
Why this matters:
The Constitution reserves the power to maintain the militia to the states; federal overreach undermines the balance of federalism.
Deploying armed forces against civilians erodes trust, fuels tension, and sets a dangerous precedent for future administrations.
Recent actions have shown little evidence that militarization reduces violent crime; instead, they have sparked protests, legal challenges, and community fear.
Protect our democracy and keep the streets civilian‑controlled.
