Stop the cut! Support economic benefits of government funding

I am writing to you as a constituent who understands that the federal government is not supposed to be run like a business, but rather a service for its citizens. Our taxpayers dollars go to programs that support us, support the economy, and support other goals of the United States, such as foreign aid or the military. Even foreign aid spending benefits the economy, with billions of dollars of food purchased from American farmers. This money boosts the economy, spreading out from the initial source to cycle through multiple transactions and creating further value. All this to say, that while DOGE claims that what they're cutting is waste, they're really cutting programs that benefit the country not only through their results, but also in ignorance of how federal funds boost the economy and return in multiples of what they were sent out as: -Research funded by the NIH generates roughly 2.5 dollars of economic activity for every 1 dollar funded. -Many federal agencies participate in SBIR and STTR grants as they've found the return on investment in small businesses benefits at a higher economic activity factor than giving it to bigger businesses. -As mentioned above, despite claims that foreign aid is only benefiting foreign countries, the money goes to American farmers first. -None of this touches on the thousands of civil servants who are employed at these programs and spend their salary here in America, generating economic activity that will be lost with their sudden unemployment. Stop lying to American voters, make it clear what the benefits of congressional funds are. Stop acting like these funds were hidden before, instead of available to the American public in annual reports and published budgets. Stop acting like fraud investigations are new, when the Government Accountability Office was already constantly reviewing activity. This does not even touch on the legality of blocking bipartisan, appropriated congressional funding from being used as budgeted. Stop the cut, block DOGE from illegal actions and let federal funds benefit the American economy as they always have. I look forward to hearing back on what actions you are taking on this.
