Protect Smithsonian independence, reject partisan revisionism

We must protect the independence and integrity of cultural institutions like the Smithsonian museums. Subjecting them to ideological pressure and mandating changes to their exhibitions and programming would undermine their vital role in education, research, and preservation of our shared history. While open and respectful dialogue on different perspectives is valuable, institutions dedicated to knowledge and truth should remain free from partisan interference or revisionism. I urge reconsideration of any efforts to exert political influence over the Smithsonian's collections, displays, and curricula, as this jeopardizes public trust in an esteemed American institution.
