An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Investigate Illegal Digital Surveillance of American Citizens

244 so far! Help us get to 250 signers!

Congress needs to open a full investigation into what the Trump administration is collecting digitally from American citizens and shut it down. Reports are surfacing about the consolidation of personal data — voting history, health records, media consumption — into centralized systems with no clear legal authority and no public accountability. That is not governance. That is surveillance. The question being asked publicly is the right one: why should any single entity control that breadth of data on every American? The answer is that they shouldn't, and it's your job to make sure they can't. Hold hearings, subpoena records, and use every oversight tool available to expose what is being collected, by whom, and under what legal justification. If the administration cannot produce one, shut the program down.
