Honor the Treaties, Not Oil: Halt Enbridge Line 5

601 so far! Help us get to 1,000 signers!

Honor the Treaties, Not Oil: Halt Enbridge Line 5 When Tribal Nations ceded millions of acres in the 1836 Treaty of Washington, the deal wasn't optional, and neither was the federal commitment to protect inherent rights to fish, hunt, and gather in clean waters. Yet, federal regulators continue rubber-stamping flawed reviews for Enbridge’s Line 5 tunnel project—deliberately ignoring the massive environmental risks to the Straits of Mackinac. Rubber-stamping oil infrastructure while ignoring Indigenous expertise isn't just bad policy; it’s a direct violation of constitutional obligations. You cannot claim to support treaty rights while permitting the destruction of the very ecosystems those rights depend on. A treaty right to fish is meaningless without clean water for fish to live. Stop treating sovereign tribal agreements like temporary suggestions to be cast aside for corporate convenience. Stand up, uphold the Supreme Law of the Land, and demand a complete halt to Line 5.
