Impeach and convict the President for accepting $400M Qatari gift

I call on Congress to impeach and convict President Trump for breaching the US Constitution by accepting a $400M gift from Qatar without Congressional approval. Article I, Section 9, Clause 8 says that no one holding federal office shall accept “any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State,” without Congressional approval. Federal employees across the country follow this rule, refusing much smaller gifts to prevent even the smallest federal contract decisions from being influenced by receipt of a gift. For example, in 2025 the gift limit for NASA employees is just twenty dollars per event. Imagine the influence that could be bought with twenty million times that amount. This gift in particular is also a grave national security risk. The Qatari could hide spying devices within the plane, or self-destruction protocols. Only completely dismantling the plane could guarantee it is safe. Planes delivered to serve as Air Force One are built from the ground up to protect our secrets and our President. The Qatari have neither the ability nor the motive to deliver such a plane to the United States. The President is also openly preferring a Qatari product over American technology and manufacturing. While this third point is not an argument for impeachment, it should be noted that accepting this gift would make Air Force One itself become a symbol of lack of faith in the American worker. As expensive as it is, this gift from Qatar will cost our nation much more than it is worth. President Trump, unilaterally accepting it without Congressional approval, has breached the Constitution. I implore the House of Representatives to impeach him, and the Senate to convict him, of breaking the promise he made in his oath of office—to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.
