It's past time for Congress to rein in ICE and ensure that the laws passed by Congress are enforced - including that ICE and private for-profit detention facilities are subject to oversight and inspection.
ICE is violating the law. Arrests and raids are being used as an instrument of terror, intimidation, and partisan revenge. It is the law that members of Congress have the Legal Right to Enter Detention Facilities and Conduct Oversight. Yet Reps. Nadler and Goldman were refused entry. Kristi Noem is now trying to defy the law by putting limits and delays on oversight. Do you want to give away more of Congress's powers? Please draw up legislation to require ICE agents to be unmasked and to show ID. Insist that ICE respects Habeas corpus.
