This gait pattern is recognized by neuropsychologists as a key indicator of FTD, a neurodegenerative disorder affecting the brain's frontal and temporal lobes. The psychologists have documented what they characterize as deteriorating psychomotor functioning, including verbal slips, language struggles, and motor difficulties consistent with dementia progression. Frontotemporal dementia affects personality, social behavior, language, and judgment. Symptoms include socially inappropriate behavior, loss of empathy, poor judgment, impulsivity, difficulty finding words, and movement problems including poor balance.
