URGENT: Demand Immediate Safe Passage for the Freedom Flotilla to Gaza

Right now, the humanitarian aid ship Madleen—a civilian vessel organized by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition—is being stalked by drones as it sails through international waters toward Gaza, carrying critical food, water filtration equipment, and medical supplies to Palestinians starving under Israel’s illegal blockade. On board are 12 peaceful, unarmed volunteers from across Europe, including climate justice activist Greta Thunberg and MEP Rima Hassan. They are risking their lives in a courageous act of nonviolent resistance against the deliberate weaponization of famine and collective punishment of 2.2 million civilians. I demand that you publicly call for the United States to ensure the immediate safe passage of the Madleen and all humanitarian vessels delivering aid to Gaza. You are elected to represent human values, not genocidal policy. The siege on Gaza is a crime against humanity. Israel is openly and deliberately starving civilians. This flotilla is not only legal under international law, it is necessary in the face of global cowardice and complicity. A month ago, Israel bombed the Conscience, another Freedom Flotilla ship, in international waters. Now they threaten to “defend themselves” again, as though the delivery of diapers and prosthetics constitutes a military attack. That threat must not be allowed to manifest into another massacre. The flotilla carries rice, baby formula, women’s sanitary products, and crutches. If you have even an ounce of decency, you must immediately: • Call for and publicly support the safe passage of the Freedom Flotilla and its crew. • Condemn any Israeli interference with humanitarian missions in international waters. • Support international action—including sanctions—against Israel’s blockade of Gaza. Fifteen years ago, Israel slaughtered ten peaceful volunteers aboard the Mavi Marmara. The United States stood by then in shameful silence. Are you going to do it again? As your constituent, I will not tolerate your silence. If you continue to support or enable the siege of Gaza and the starving of children, I will work to ensure you are voted out, remembered in history not as a leader, but as an accomplice to atrocity.
