An open letter to the President & U.S. Congress

Protect the CDC’s HIV Prevention Division

4 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

The Trump administration is discussing cuts to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's domestic HIV prevention efforts, which could undermine years of progress in controlling the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the United States. Reducing funding for HIV testing, prevention services, and monitoring would likely lead to more infections and make it harder to achieve the goal of ending the HIV epidemic by 2030. The HIV Prevention Division at the CDC plays a vital role in coordinating the national response to HIV and supporting community organizations on the front lines. Protecting this funding is crucial for safeguarding public health and continuing to drive down HIV transmission rates through proven, evidence-based interventions. I urge you to maintain robust support for the CDC's HIV prevention work in order to build on the gains made and not allow this preventable disease to regain a foothold.
