Defend democracy: reject Trump's authoritarian rhetoric and actions

Donald Trump's rhetoric and actions while in office demonstrated authoritarian tendencies that undermined democratic institutions and norms. His refusal to accept the results of the 2020 election and incitement of the January 6th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol were an assault on the peaceful transfer of power. Labeling himself as a "king" flies in the face of America's founding principles of limiting government power and having checks and balances. True leadership requires respecting the rule of law, not subjugating it to one's personal interests. We must remain vigilant against any such anti-democratic forces that threaten our republic.
