I just read your post on X and I am appalled! You may be inclined to “support” Gov Abbott’s idiotic interpretation of the constitution, but you’re way out of line with this posting. First of all, in my opinion Gov essentially ignoring the fact that Federal Law is applicable to control of the US border, not TX state law. Secondly, Abbott is essentially advocating for armed conflict between TX National Guard members and members of the US armed forces, i.e., an insurrection. Surely you understand the potential for members of the armed forces who are residents of TN to be injured or killed in Abbott’s ill-conceived scheme. What in the world are you thinking? Keep your thoughts to yourself and stay off Twitter / X, until you’ve heard from your constituents. Gov Abbott is clearly a lawless, frustrated bully. The right thing for you to do here is to stay above the fray, not support a governor who’s clearly in the wrong. You should know better. Then again, you seem to think it’s OK for everyone over the age of 18 to carry a loaded firearm at all times. As a 30 year resident of TN I believe you are the worst governor during my tenure here. I hope you’ll stop encouraging Gov Abbott’s reckless, feckless assault on our constitution, and I hope you’ll grow a spine in your dealings with the out of control TN Legislature. You’ve been on the wrong side of history almost from the outset of your time as governor. Please stop encouraging armed conflict between the Federal Government and State Governments. If you have it in you, act like a mature, intelligent man. Stop supporting the unconstitutional moves Gov Abbott is making. You’ll encourage too many reckless, feckless armed Tennesseans to act just as irresponsibly.
