Stop punishing immigrants for obeying the law

Why is ICE raiding and arresting people who are showing up for immigration hearings and appointments? These people are following the legal process. They are doing what they’re supposed to do. These arrests are simply punishing them for complying with the law. This is not making America safer or better. We all know it is a way to stoke fear and division, which can then be used to push for more centralized executive control (as we see with the current push to have federal control over the National Guard in California). I urge you to take a strong stance against this. ICE’s excessive action is a waste of taxpayer dollars, and it is a violation of human dignity. This does not help our country. This is not just or humane. I pray that you and all our leadership will be able to see that.
