An open letter to the U.S. House of Representatives
Rep. Mark Amodei, Where Is Our Representation? Hold a Town Hall Now!
1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!
I am writing to demand that you engage directly with your constituents and answer for your continued absence from public forums. You have represented Nevada’s 2nd Congressional District since 2011, yet in that time, you have held only two town halls—and none in the past eight years.
This is unacceptable. The people of Reno and all of Northern Nevada deserve real representation. When nearly 1,000 of your constituents gathered outside your Reno office on Saturday, you did not address them. You have remained silent as Nevadans raise urgent concerns about our constitutional rights, the erosion of democratic institutions, and the future of our country.
As our elected official, you have a duty to listen to the people you serve, not hide from them. I am calling on you to:
1. Hold an in-person town hall immediately—not a tele-town hall, not a closed-door event, but a real, public forum where we can ask questions and get answers.
2. Publicly address what you are doing to protect our constitutional rights, democratic institutions, and the rule of law.
3. Show up for your constituents—not just during election season, but when we need you the most.
Reno demands representation. If you refuse to engage with your own district, then perhaps it’s time we elect someone who will. I look forward to your public response and the scheduling of a town hall.
