Oppose political agendas that compromise mental health!

I am writing to strongly oppose the recent executive order establishing the “Make America Healthy Again” commission. This order threatens access to essential mental health medications, including SSRIs, stimulants, mood stabilizers, and antipsychotics like Abilify and Risperdal. These medications are critical for children and adults managing conditions such as depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. Restricting or eliminating access could have devastating consequences for countless families.
The individuals appointed to oversee these decisions are not mental health professionals. Instead, the commission is composed of officials such as the Secretary of Education, the Secretary of Agriculture, and the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development—none of whom have the psychiatric expertise necessary to guide decisions about mental health treatment. This lack of qualified oversight is alarming and puts millions of vulnerable individuals at risk.
Mental health treatment should be guided by doctors and evidence-based medicine, not political agendas. Families across the country rely on these medications to support their children’s well-being, education, and daily lives. Limiting access would lead to increased hospitalizations, school disruptions, and unnecessary suffering.
I urge you to take immediate action to oppose any policies that would restrict access to psychiatric medications. Please stand with the families and individuals who depend on these treatments by rejecting this commission’s overreach into healthcare decisions.
Our voices matter—do not let this order stand unchallenged.
