A Storm of Our Own Making: The Moment of Truth for the Republican Party
1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!
I write this not in anger, but in sorrow—and deep concern for the future of the United States and the Republican Party I have supported my entire life.
Over the course of just 12 hours, President Trump released a series of public posts that raise real, serious questions about his mental clarity, emotional regulation, and fitness to lead. These posts included:
• Declaring “Liberation Day” for America and asserting that we must now collect what the world owes us
• Accusing judges of usurping presidential power and predicting chaos if they are not stopped
• Calling for 20-year sentences and even foreign prison placement for individuals allegedly targeting Elon Musk
• Publicly attacking journalists with personal, inflammatory language that borders on unhinged
• Repeating conspiracies and demanding vindication in matters as trivial as egg prices and gas
As a Christian, a conservative, and a Republican, I don’t take these concerns lightly. I believe in prayer, patience, and order—not panic. But we must ask, where are the checks and balances? Is this what our Founders had in mind when they created a system designed to protect the people, not a single man?
The world is watching. Our allies are anxious. Our enemies are emboldened. And many of us here at home feel like we are being led by a man who is losing his grip on reality, while everyone in power either looks away—or worse, protects the officeholder instead of the office.
I want Republicans to lead this nation—not hand it to a Democratic Party that is itself in disarray, but at least not self-destructing as fast. If we are truly the party of law and order, family, faith, and freedom, then we must act like it. Otherwise, what exactly are we defending?
I ask each of you:
IS THIS HOW YOU WANT TO BE REMEMBERED?
Not for protecting the Constitution, but for shielding an elderly man spiraling in public view?
Not for guarding our nation’s future, but for enabling a moment that may ultimately shatter it?
IT TAKES NO COURAGE TO STAY QUIET. BUT IT TAKES GREAT COURAGE—AND TRUE CONVICTION—TO SPEAK THE TRUTH WHEN IT’S HARD.
This is that moment.
