An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Are We Broke or Not?

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

We're in a shutdown and yet the government still has the money to deploy the guard to city streets and shoot at civilians? Make it make sense, y'all. I don't know what delusions you're operating under, but the crisis perceived in these cities with military on the ground is being created BY the military, ICE, and our administration's constant violent rhetoric. At the same time as Trump and Vance and your fellow legislators are crowing about how hateful and unacceptable referring to political opponents as Nazis and Fascists is, they're calling their opponents Nazis and Fascists and stoking the flames of political violence. I'd think that in a shutdown, we would want to keep vital services running--like trash pickup in our National Parks and healthcare administration offices--rather than waging a war against our own citizens. I don't even wanna know how much Hegseth paid to call all 800 military leaders fat and unkempt. So I guess my real question is, are we in a shutdown or not? Are we trying to save money in. this country or not? Are we actually making life better for any citizens in this clusterfuck?
